A hardwood board, resplendent with a live edge, hewn from the heartwood of a majestic Virginia white oak. This board is a testament to nature's artistry, where the tree's natural contours and character have been lovingly preserved, creating a piece that's both functional and a true work of nature's art. Logs are round and live edges have a wider width on one side toward the center of the log.

36 inches long x roughly 3/4 inch thick (minus kerf)
Wide Side (toward center)
12 inches at the widest point on the long side (toward the center of the log)
9 1/2 inches at the widest point on the short side
Lesser Side (toward the bark)
9 inches to live edge at the widest point
6 1/2 inches to live edges at the shortest point
MOISTURE:
This slab was tested on September 2, 2023 at 8.2% moisture and for context, the weather that day was 84 degrees, 29.7 Atmospheric Pressure, with 49% Humidity. Wood will continuously acclimate to its environment until it is sealed with a good wood sealer. Most woodworkers like to see less than 10% moisture for optimal results. Buyers should allow the wood to acclimate to their environment before working with this product.

NOTE: This is a natural wood product. Cracks/splits (also called checking) that can be seen are also unique to the piece and may increase or decrease with changes in humidity. The board slab may also warp (cup, bow, crook, or twist) when exposed to environments of humidity before sealing. We take every effort to make sure that we protect our slabs while being shipped but we can't control their environments while in transit. If you are purchasing slab wood, you likely know how to plain the slab back to flat or use the slab in the true form.

This is a RAW slab of lumber. Humidity, temperature and moisture will affect this item until sealed.
To care for your live edge raw lumber piece, keep it indoors away from direct sunlight and extreme humidity. Occasionally wipe it with a damp cloth to remove dust and maintain its natural luster. Avoid placing hot or wet objects directly on the untreated wood surface to prevent damage.
